People pray I get stomach upset to miss PAC sittings – Sam George brags

-

The Member of Parliament for Ningo Prampram, Sam George, has stated that people are praying for him not to attend Public Accounts Committee (PAC) sittings.

To him, he is simply carrying out his duties and desires that only the best actions are taken.

“People are praying I don’t come to PAC sittings. They are even praying I get stomach upset so I don’t come. I am only doing my work. I only want the best things to be done” he said.

He made this known in an interview on Adom FM’s morning show Dwaso Nsem Tuesday.

Sam George has been a thorn in the flesh of some public officers during Public Accounts Committee sittings.

Last week’s session encountered disruption when a seemingly straightforward question escalated into a dispute. During the Ghana Revenue Authority’s turn, Sam George queried the year in which the Authority’s Commissioner-General, Rev Dr. Ammishaddai Owusu-Amoah, turned 60.

Furthermore, during the appearance of the Sports Ministry and the National Sports Authority at the PAC, Sam George alleged that, revenues from renting out facilities for events were not being deposited into the agency’s designated account.

He pointed out a litany of issues, including financial mismanagement, lack of transparency, and dubious accounting practices.

This scrutiny, the Ningo-Prampram MP said has courted hatred for him.

But, despite facing these challenges, Mr. George said he is unperturbed because he is simply doing the job he is paid for.
