The queen mother of Denkyira, Nana Ama Ayensua Saara III, has refuted claims of arrogance against New Patriotic Party (NPP) running mate, Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh.
She stated that his bravery has unfortunately been mistaken for arrogance by many.
Nana Ama Ayensua Saara III made this statement at the Boa-Amponsem Palace in Dunkwa-On-Offin when Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh paid a courtesy call on her as part of his one-week campaign tour of the Central and Ashanti regions.
According to the queen mother, Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, being an Ashanti royal, has roots in Denkyira, and the people of Denkyira are known for their bravery in all they do.
She said every task Dr. Opoku Prempeh has been assigned to, he has approached with courage, which has led some to mistakenly view him as arrogant.
Dr. Opoku Prempeh, for his part, explained that as a royal, he has been raised to stand up for the truth, which can sometimes be perceived as arrogance.
He assured that, he will continue to serve with humility and work in the interest of the country’s development.
