The National Peace Council (NPC) has commended the New Patriotic Party(NPP) flagbearer and Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia for conceding defeat in the 2024 election.
In a statement, the Council also congratulated the National Democratic Congress(NDC) flagbearer, former President John Mahama for his decisive victory.
The Council lauded Dr Bawumia’s leadership in respecting the peace pact signed by the presidential candidates before the election to uphold peace before, during, and after the elections.
Dr Bawumia’s move according to the Council has greatly enhanced Ghana’s democratic processes and made the nation proud.
“We commend H.E. Bawumia for respecting his commitment to the 4th Presidential Elections Peace Pact. This action has enhanced Ghana’s democratic processes and made our country proud,” the NPC said.
