Parliament reconvenes today

-

Parliament will reconvene today, December 16, 2024, to wrap up the seventh meeting of the fourth session of the Eighth Parliament of the Fourth Republic.

The sitting is scheduled for 10 am at the Grand Arena of the Accra International Conference Centre.

The meeting will address critical parliamentary business as the year concludes.

The Eighth Parliament has faced heightened scrutiny over the past two months, making this upcoming session crucial for legislative deliberations and governance continuity.

This follows the outcome of the December 7 election which has changed the political landscape, with the National Democratic Congress (NDC) securing a parliamentary majority.

Several high-profile Members of Parliament(MPS) particulary from the New Patriotic Party (NPP) including Ursula Owusu-Ekulful, Henry Quartey, Kobina Tahir Hammond(K.T), and Andy Appiah Kubi among others have lost their seats, altering the balance of power in the legislature.
