The Director of IT and Elections for the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Edward Omane Boamah, has emphasized the critical role Parliament plays in signaling how the party will respond to the upcoming December 7 elections.
In a Facebook post on Tuesday, October 22, Boamah shared his views amid the escalating political tension surrounding four vacant parliamentary seats.
This move sparked a major controversy after Speaker Alban Bagbin declared the seats vacant, prompting immediate opposition from the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
Although the Supreme Court ruled to suspend the Speaker’s declaration, NDC Members of Parliament have openly stated their refusal to comply with the court’s decision, vowing instead to follow Speaker Bagbin’s orders.
“We are demanding a multi-stakeholder audit of the Electoral Commission’s IT system. This audit will address the flaws and expose those within the Commission responsible for manipulating the voter register to prevent such issues in the future.
“Today, Parliament must take the lead in showing how the NDC will react when the courts intervene,” he said.
