The Paramount Chief of Busunu traditional area in the West Gonja District of the Savannah region has died aged 95.
Cheif Langateri-Wura Salifunu Sulimana II passed Wednesday morning at the Damongo Hospital after a prolonged illness.
Known in private life as Larseini Mahama, he reigned for 26 years.
Joy News sources say the late paramount chief was in a coma at the palace and was rushed to the hospital last Sunday.
He is said to have been put on a life support device until his demise.
Larseini Mahama is survived by two wives and several children.
An official announcement of his funeral and burial will be communicated soon due to the culture and traditions of the area.
