PAC warns of prosecution as procurement breaches continue to surface

-

Procurement breaches, as reported by the Auditor General, continue to appear before the Public Accounts Committee, and the issue has been a significant concern for the Committee.

The Public Accounts Committee has warned that it will now refer public officers who engage in procurement breaches for prosecution.

Consequently, it has referred several cases to the Ghana Tourism Authority (GTA) to initiate legal action.

The Committee of Parliament has now adopted strict measures to recover and reclaim monies owed to the state.

This time, the PAC has ordered the Ghana Tourism Authority to prosecute all officers involved in procurement breaches.

The Chair of the Public Accounts Committee, Dr. James Klutse Avedzi, questioned GTA officials on how many officers have been prosecuted.
