Over 100 supporters of Alan’s Movement for Change defect to NPP

-

With less than 60 days to the December 7 election, some supporters of Alan Kyerematen’s Movement for Change in the Central Region have switched alliance to the New Patriotic Party (NPP).

The group numbering over 100 announced their decision at a press conference on Tuesday, October.

The group’s spokesperson and Polling Station Secretary at Twi-Ndzi, Twi, Gegem Electoral Area in the Cape Coast South, Francis Edzie said the development follows an engagement with the national campaign leadership.

They have pledged to campaign for the NPP flagbearer, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia actively to ensure his victory in the 2024 election.

The supporters explained their decision was informed by the NPP’s track record which they believe must continue.

“We, the campaign team members of Alan Kwadwo Kyerematen during the presidential primaries, have gathered here today to make our intention known. We followed Alan Kyerematen to the Movement for Change but have decided to return to our mother party after advice from the national campaign of Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.

“The NPP has done a lot in terms of developmental projects in its eight years in office. We want the NPP to continue with its progress, and so we have decided to support the party. We declare to support the party with our able strength for the betterment of us all with Dr. Bawumia becoming President in 2025,” he said.

Meanwhile, some of the supporters have also pleaded with Mr Kyerematen to consider returning to the NPP as his turn will surely come for the party to reward him to lead.
