The Eastern Regional National Democratic Congress (NDC) Chairman, Dr Mark-Oliver Kevor has detailed some strategies including an exam that counted for their victory in the 2024 election.
According to him, the party agents as part of preparations wrote an aptitude test ahead of the elections.
He said after the examinations, all those who passed were taken through training for at least four times before the election was due.
In an interview on Adom FM Burning Issues, Dr Kevor admitted that in the past, some of their agents were weak and lacked understanding of the electoral processes.
This he said led the party down in so many instances and to change the narrative, the party hierarchy adopted the exam structure.
“Going into the 2024 election, there were a number of measures we put in place which included conducting exams for all our agents. We set a certain criterial which was that, whoever wanted to be our agent should at least have HND certificate,” he explained.
He added that all those who failed the exams were disqualified and once a person is disqualified, he or she has no chance to re-apply.
They then moved on to recruit new people to go through same processes to fill in the gap to reach the number the party needed.
“The pink sheet that we see is very complicated and I think this thing we did enlightened our agents to resist any attempt by electoral officers to manipulates figures this was why we did so well in some regions people never expected NDC could have such votes.
“At some polling stations, the Electoral Commission’s Officers told us, our agents assisted them in the tabulation of the results on the pink sheet,” Dr Kevor said.
