Ouattara cautious on Hearts of Oak’s title hopes

-

Hearts of Oak head coach Aboubakar Ouattara has refused to confirm whether his team will clinch the ongoing 2024/25 Ghana Premier League title, despite their latest victory.

The Phobians secured a 2-0 win over Young Apostles in their Matchday 23 clash at the University of Ghana Sports Stadium on Saturday.

Goals from Michael Awuah Mensah and Hamza Issah, both scored through headers in each half, ensured all three points for the Rainbow Club.

Speaking after the match, the Ivorian tactician expressed his delight with the win but remained cautious when asked about their title chances.

“As to whether we will win the league, I can only reply to you on June 8,” Ouattara stated.

“Our next game is against Dreams FC, and that’s another tough game, so we’re going to prepare for it,” he added.

The victory lifts Hearts of Oak to third place on the league table with 36 points.
