The queen mother of Atonsu Kuwait, Otumfuoyere Nana Abena Achiaa, is calling for support to realize her quest to establish a basic school and an adult education centre in her community.
In commemorating her 13 years of enstoolment, she revealed a large track of land has been reserved for the project, hence the appeal for help to develop education in the area.
The event was under the theme: “Embracing practical education, the key to Asanteman’s development”.
She said noted “education is the backbone of all developing countries and communities need to make it a priority”.
According to her, opportunities for employment and reduction in crime rest on people’s access to education.
“If children are in education and the adult who couldn’t have their education in their infancy are also acquiring skill training, it will create more employment and will also reduce crime.
“Most people wouldn’t have engaged in bad life if they got support in education, so I will plead with them to support me to build this project,” she said.
Otumfuoyere Nana Abena Achiaa also advised the youth to detach themselves from any political violence in the upcoming election.
“Elections are opinion sharing not violence, we should all support whoever wins for the development of Ghana,” she advised.
