Highlife musician, Kofi Kinaata has expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the King of the Ashanti Kingdom, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, for giving his career a significant boost.

This came after Otumfuo mentioned Kinaata during a speech at the Ghana Bar Association conference in Kumasi.

Kinaata revealed that, the King’s mention of his name has led to a noticeable rise in his social media engagements, views, and music streams.

“By mentioning my name, every number has increased—streams, views, and social media engagement. Ɔpemsoɔ Medaase! Piaaawww!” Kinaata wrote, thanking Otumfuo for the recognition.

During the Bar Conference, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II spoke about the importance of appreciating Ghana and its institutions, citing Kinaata’s song “Susuka” as an example of wisdom in local music.

He specifically referenced the lyrics “Obi nyɛ w’ayɛ,” which translates to “Someone wishes they were like you,” encouraging Ghanaians to reflect on the message of gratitude and contentment.
