Black Stars head coach Otto Addo has heaped praise on technical advisor Winfried Schäfer, emphasizing his ability to navigate difficult situations.

The experienced German tactician was brought into Ghana’s technical setup following the team’s failure to qualify for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).

Speaking in an interview, Addo expressed confidence in Schäfer’s impact, describing his arrival as a game-changer.

“Winfried Schäfer has big, big experience. He has won the African Cup with Cameroon. He knows how to deal with difficult situations,” he told 3Sports.

“We’ve been talking a lot. He’s been engaging from the first day with the players, and I am very, very happy that he’s on board,” he added.

Schäfer is best remembered for guiding Cameroon to victory in the 2002 AFCON tournament.

Meanwhile, Ghana is set to face Chad at the Accra Sports Stadium on Friday, March 21, at 19:00 GMT before traveling to Morocco to take on Madagascar on Monday, March 24.
