Otto Addo demands 100% focus as Ghana face Madagascar in World Cup qualifier

-

Ghana coach Otto Addo has called for absolute focus and perfection from his players ahead of their crucial 2026 World Cup qualifier against Madagascar.

The Black Stars will face the Barea tonight at the Al Hoceima Grand Stadium in a pivotal Matchday 6 encounter.

Following their commanding 5-0 victory over Chad last Friday in Accra, Addo insists his team must remain fully committed to securing another win to strengthen their chances of qualification for next year’s tournament.

Despite their impressive performance against Chad, the 49-year-old acknowledges that Madagascar will pose a tough challenge.

“I think the most important thing is that I know everybody’s excited, everybody was happy about our last win, but we still have a long way to go and we need everyone to be on their toes,” Addo told GFA media.

“We don’t need 98 per cent, we don’t need 99 per cent, we need 100 per cent. This is like a small final, and if we win this game, then we are really going to qualify, but it’s going to be very, very tough,” he added.

Kick-off is scheduled for 19:00 GMT.

Ghana currently sits at the top of Group I and will aim to maintain their position with a victory over Madagascar as they push for their fifth FIFA World Cup appearance, set to be hosted across the USA, Canada, and Mexico.
