The Oti Regional Minister, DSP (Rtd) Daniel Machator, has expressed his commitment to fostering peace as a cornerstone of his legacy.

During a familiarization visit to various Districts and Municipal Assemblies, the Minister raised deep concerns over the rising insecurity that has plagued the area, impacting the lives and livelihoods of its residents.

He acknowledged that insecurity not only disrupts daily life but also hampers economic development and social cohesion.

According to him, peace is not merely the absence of conflict but requires proactive efforts to build understanding and cooperation among diverse groups.

He urged citizens to engage in dialogue and resolve differences amicably, emphasizing that a peaceful community is essential for sustainable growth and prosperity.

DSP Machator also outlined various government projects in the region, including the District Road Improvement Program (DRIP).

He mentioned that the DRIP initiative is designed to address the pressing need for improved road networks in the Oti Region.

By upgrading existing roads and constructing new ones, the program will not only facilitate better movement of goods and services but also enhance the overall quality of life for residents.

The Minister called for support from governmental and non-governmental organizations to bolster these efforts, stressing that collaboration is vital for the success of peace-building initiatives. He urged all parties to contribute resources and expertise to the cause.

At the palace of the Krachi Traditional Council, Nana Mprah Besemuna III, President of the Oti Regional House of Chiefs, commended the Oti Minister for his dedicated efforts in improving infrastructure and services in the region.

The Paramount chief noted that, these initiatives have significantly enhanced the quality of life for residents, fostering economic growth and connectivity.

However, Nana Mprah stressed the urgent need for an additional pontoon on the Dambai River, stating that its addition is crucial to alleviate travel delays affecting the community.
