The Regional Minister for Oti Region, DSP (Rtd) Daniel Machator, has called for effective collaboration between local Assemblies and chiefs in executing government initiatives.
The Minister said traditional leaders play a pivotal role in mobilizing community support and ensuring that government policies resonate with the local populace.
By working closely with local Assemblies, chiefs can help bridge the gap between the government and the people, fostering a sense of ownership and accountability in development projects.
Speaking to the chiefs from the various traditional councils, the Minister lamented about the rising insecurity in the region which Is retarding development in the area.
He urged both parties to establish regular communication channels to facilitate the sharing of ideas and resources, which would ultimately lead to more effective governance.
The Regional Minister also admonished local Assembly workers against lackadaisical attitude in the performance of their duties so as to achieve all targeted goals.
DSP (rtd) Machator also asked for prayers and support from all the traditional rulers in the performance of duties as the Regional Minister.
During his tour, the minister also took the opportunity to inspect several ongoing projects in the area.
He expressed satisfaction with the progress made but stressed the importance of timely completion and quality assurance.
The Minister reiterated that these projects are not just government initiatives but are vital for the overall development of the region and the well-being of its inhabitants.
Also, Evans Yaw Dapaah, the Oti Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), addressing the chiefs and the people, urged them to reject the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the upcoming elections.
He emphasized that, the new region has not reaped any significant benefits under NDC leadership, highlighting a lack of development and support for the community.
The chairman therefore, called on the people to recognize the importance of their vote and choose NPP which is a party that prioritizes their needs.
