The New Patriotic Party (NPP) Presidential candidate, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, has pledged to prioritize the developmental needs of the Oti Region if elected, enhancing the status of Ghana’s recently created region.

During his tour, which began in Tokorano in the Krachi East Constituency, Dr. Bawumia assured the Paramount Chief and various stakeholders that their concerns were being heard.

“I am fully aware of the challenges facing the Oti Region,” Dr. Bawumia stated. “We are taking concrete steps to address these issues, and I want to ensure the region sees transformative projects under my leadership.”

Addressing the call for a university in the region, Dr. Bawumia confirmed that plans were underway to elevate Dambai College of Education to a university.

“Education is essential for regional development,” he said, “and upgrading Dambai College to university status will provide greater opportunities for the youth and promote growth in the region.”

Dr. Bawumia also stressed plans for an AstroTurf and a regional hospital, underscoring his commitment to delivering infrastructure that aligns with the people’s needs.

“Your development is my priority,” he emphasized. “Together, we can build a brighter future for the Oti Region.”

The Paramount Chief of the Asukoko Traditional Council, Nana Odam Gyamfi II, offered his support, expressing confidence in Dr. Bawumia’s vision for the region.

“We stand with you,” he assured, “and commend you for conducting a campaign based on respect and issues, not insults.”

He added, “We look forward to seeing your promises realized in the Oti Region.”

Dr. Bawumia concluded by urging the people to vote for him on December 7, assuring them that he would be a leader who listens and delivers on his commitments.
