The Oti Regional Minister, John Gyapong Kudjo, has urged delegates participating in the Council of State election to elect a competent representative.

Speaking in an interview with Adom News, he emphasized that the Council of State plays a crucial role in advising the President and influencing national policy decisions.

According to him, the region needs a representative who can effectively lobby for its interests and ensure that its concerns are heard at the national level.

He highlighted that the Council of State is not just a ceremonial body but is instrumental in shaping the country’s future.

Echoing the Minister’s sentiments, Guan MP Fred Agbanyo reinforced the call for diligence in the selection process.

He noted that the future of Oti depends on the collective decision made by the delegates.

Mr. Agbanyo urged delegates to choose wisely, as their decision will influence the region’s development and welfare.

The Electoral Commission (EC) is currently conducting the Council of State election in all 16 regions.

A total of 155 aspirants—145 males and 10 females—are contesting, with 522 delegates expected to participate.

Eight candidates, including Richard Kings Atikpo, CEO of Legon Cities, are vying for the position in the Oti Region.
