The headmistress of O’Reilly Senior High School (SHS) Nadia Lartechoe Annan on Wednesday reportedly fled for her life at a meeting following the tragic death of a final-year student.
This was after confusion erupted at the meeting between the Ghana Education Service(GES) and family of the late student, Edward Sackey.
Edward, an 18-year-old General Arts student, died on Monday, September 2, after being stabbed by a classmate from the Visual Arts Department.
The meeting which had the Chief of Okpoi Gonno, Nii Okpoi Gonno Twerebour IV in attendance was expected to be peaceful.
However, Adom News‘ Prince Owusu Asiedu who was present reported that, tempers flared as grieving family members accused school management of not being responsive to the tragic incident.
The family members, who looked furious, started yelling and the headmistress, sensing danger left before the situation got worse.
The angry family members, who earlier accused the school management of negligence, questioned why they have not been properly briefed.
“When the incident happened, the suspect was rescued and taken to an office so do they want to tell us they have not interrogated him or he hasn’t willingly spoken,?” an angry sister of the deceased said.
Another added that, “This is not the first time. Human beings make up the school not fowls. So they must thoroughly probe the matter.”
