Opuni should have been beaten and dragged out of office – NDC man

-

Greater Accra Regional Secretary of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) is excited Chief Executive of the Cocobod, Dr. Stephen Opuni has been sacked.

According to Anthony Nukpenu, the Akufo-Addo government treated him [Opuni] with kid gloves by serving him a letter because “they should have sent boys to throw him out”.

The Chief Executive of the Cocobod, Dr. Stephen Opuni has been directed to vacate his post not later than 5:00pm Friday, January 13, 2017.

The directive was contained in a letter dated January 12, 2017 and signed by the Executive Secretary to the President Nana Asante Bediatuo.

The directive, the letter said, is pursuant to section 14(1) of the Presidential (Transition) Act, 2012 (Act 845).

But speaking on Asempa FM’s Ekosii Sen programme Friday, Anthony Nukpenu said the NDC does not sympathize with Dr. Opuni.

“It serves him [Opuni] right because only a fool will sit in the office after losing elections. No NDC member will sympathize with him; he treated party supporters like grass” he fumed.

The NDC Regional Organiser cited how party members will go and sit in his office for long hours only to be embarrassed by Dr. Opuni as one of many incidents which made him very unpopular in the party.

Anthony Nukpenu urged Dr. Opuni and other government appointees who contributed to the NDC’s defeat to beef up their security to avoid being beaten by angry party supporters.
