President John Dramani Mahama has hailed the historic inauguration of Professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang as Ghana’s first female Vice President, noted its significance in advancing gender equality and inclusive governance.

Speaking during the swearing-in ceremony on January 7, 2025, Mahama described Prof. Opoku-Agyemang’s achievement as a “powerful testament to the strength of diverse voices to shape the future.”

“As we look to the horizon, we reaffirm our dedication to breaking the glass ceiling that has long hindered many from reaching their full potential. Governance that reflects all segments of our population strengthens our democracy and enriches our collective conversation,” he said.
