President Nana Addo-Dankwa Akufo-Addo has incurred the wrath of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) for stating the party will stay in opposition forever.
This is in reaction to the NDC’s claim that the NPP intends to relocate the University of Environment and Sustainable Development (UESD) from Somanya to Bunso.

The NDC also accused government of engaging in an illegality with the project when there is no governing council in place.
But President Akufo-Addo during his three-day working visit to the Eastern region said this deliberate act of misinformation is an agenda of the NDC to re-capture power.
“These are people who are looking at a long period in opposition,” he said, explaining that the more desperate the NDC gets, the more fabrications they will engage in.

President Akufo-Addo’s comments according to the Eastern Regional Organizer of the NDC, Haruna Apaw is unfortunate.
Speaking on Adom FM’s morning show, Dwaso Nsem Friday, he said he expected the President to address the bread and butter issues confronting Ghanaians instead of throwing jabs at the opposition.
He maintained that, the fate of the NDC will only be determined by God not a President who is doing everything possible to retain power.

“If we will base our future on word of mouth then you Akufo-Addo wouldn’t have been president because a lot of people said you will never be president. You [Nana] cannot determine NDC’s fate” he fumed.
Haruna Apaw said the NDC was only amplifying the fact that, the agreement between Ghana and the Italian government for the establishment of the University does not allow anyone to relocate the university campus to Bunso or any part of the country.
