Okaikwei Central MP urges Black Stars to rediscover 2010 form

-

Okaikwei Central Member of Parliament, Patrick Yaw Boamah, has called on the Black Stars to regain the form that propelled them to the quarterfinals of the 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa.

His appeal follows Ghana’s impressive back-to-back victories in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers, where they triumphed 5-0 against Chad and 3-0 against Madagascar.

Boamah emphasized that while the team has shown promise, it has yet to reach its full potential and must aim for greater excellence.

“We want our national team at the levels that took us to the last 8 in 2010. That is where we want our national team to be, we encourage them to play better and to be at the level that will gladden the hearts of Ghanaians, Mr Speaker,” Boamah said during a session in Parliament.

With these crucial wins, Ghana has bolstered its chances of qualifying for the 2026 World Cup, which will be hosted by the USA, Mexico, and Canada.

The Black Stars will return to action in September for their Matchday 7 and 8 fixtures against Chad and Mali.
