Okaikwei Central: Baba Sadiq loses to Patrick Boamah after final collation

-

New Patriotic Party (NPP) Patrick Yaw Boamah  has been declared the MP-elect for Okaikwei Central after a final collation of results.

Boamah secured 21,099 votes, defeating Baba Sadiq of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), who garnered 19,368 votes, leaving a victory margin of 1,731 votes.

The declaration followed a High Court directive that compelled the Electoral Commission to finalize results from 31 outstanding polling stations.

Baba Sadiq was initially declared the winner on election day, sparking disputes and subsequent legal action.

Following the incident, the NPP sought redress in court. The High Court ordered the Electoral Commission to re-collate results from 31 polling stations that had not been included in the initial tally.

However, the re-collation affirmed Boamah as the winner, consolidating the NPP’s hold on the seat.

Baba Sadiq Abdulai Abu  has lost his first attempt at entering Parliament after the final collation of results in the Okaikwei Central constituency.
