Asante Kotoko head coach, Prosper Narteh Ogum, has expressed confidence in his team’s readiness ahead of their midweek clash with Accra Lions.
The Porcupine Warriors will travel to the capital to face Accra Lions in a rescheduled Ghana Premier League Matchday 22 fixture on Wednesday, April 16, at the Accra Sports Stadium.
After a goalless draw with Heart of Lions and a 1-1 stalemate against Bechem United at the Baba Yara Stadium, Kotoko will be aiming to return to winning ways.
Speaking to the club’s media team, Coach Ogum emphasized that despite the tight schedule, his squad is well-prepared.
“We are very prepared after our last game. We have had our recovery session, though there is still an element of fatigue due to the quick turnaround. But we have to be ready for Wednesday’s game,” he said.
Ogum also acknowledged Accra Lions’ threat, noting their motivation to avoid relegation.
“We are ready tactically. Accra Lions are a good side, and although they are struggling on the league table, they will be highly motivated to secure a win and move up,” Ogum added.
He predicted a closely contested match, with both teams having high stakes.
“While they are fighting relegation, we are competing for the league title. It’s going to be a close and interesting game,” Ogum said.
Kick-off is scheduled for 15:00 GMT at the Accra Sports Stadium.
