Former Member of Parliament for Upper Denkyira West, Mr Benjamin Kofi Ayeh, says the leaked tape case involving the national chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Mr Samuel Ofosu-Ampofo needed to get to court to clear doubts.

According to the politician, the court will help tell whether the tape is doctored or not.

“We all agree that we will make the laws work in Ghana so we thank God that Ofosu-Ampofo wasn’t arrested and manhandled but the right processes have been taken.

“If at the end of the day the court tells us the tape is doctored as claimed, then so be it, but if it is not so, I believe they will find out the motive and the law will deal with him accordingly because no one is above the law. The case was sent to court to clear all doubts,” he noted.

Mr Ayeh added that if the leaked tape was doctored as NDC claimed, why did former President John Dramani Mahama comment on a portion of the tape.

“Some of the revelations from the leaked tape are very serious and unfortunate which need further investigations, in any case, isn’t that same doctored tape that Mahama was giving another version that the tape exists but have been misinterpreted?  Wasn’t the NDC the same people that said the tape was doctored and didn’t exist?” he quizzed.
