“We could have avoided this court case and wouldn’t have reached this level if Ofosu-Ampofo was brave enough to have admitted and apologised for the leaked tape when it came out,” says former Member of Parliament (MP) for Bantama Constituency, Henry Kwabena Kokofu.
The comments of the former MP followed criticisms by the National Democratic Congress (NDC) against the President, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo that he is deliberately hounding the NDC chairman over the alleged leaked tape.
Speaking on Adom TV’s Badwam show, Mr Kokofu said it was important for leaders to exhibit responsible acts in every aspect of their life.

“Leadership comes with a lot of responsibility and so we need to be mindful of what we say because Ghanaians respect us so well and take everything we say serious. We may sometimes think we are saying things to incite fear but may be taken the wrong way,” he advised.

Mr Ofosu-Ampofo, together with the Deputy National Communications Officer of the NDC, Mr Kwaku Boahen appeared in court on Tuesday on charges of conspiracy to cause harm and assault against a public officer.
Both the national chairman and Deputy National Communications Officer have flatly denied the charges against them.
Mr Ofosu-Ampofo was represented by Tony Lithur, Dominic Ayine and Edudzi Tamakloe.
