The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has officially announced the departure of Black Queens head coach, Nora Häuptle, as her contract with the team has come to an end.
In a statement, the GFA extended its gratitude to Häuptle for her dedication and significant contributions to the Black Queens and the advancement of women’s football in Ghana during her tenure.
Häuptle served as head coach for two years, with her salary and accommodation fully covered by the GFA. In anticipation of her contract expiring on December 31, 2024, the Association initiated renewal discussions as early as June 2024.
Despite offering Häuptle improved salary terms and enhanced working conditions, both parties were unable to reach a mutual agreement on the contract renewal.
The GFA assured fans that plans are already underway to appoint a new head coach for the Black Queens, with an announcement expected soon.
During her time with the team, Häuptle notably guided the Black Queens to secure qualification for the 2025 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON), which will take place in Morocco later this year.
Following her departure, Häuptle has been named the new head coach of Zambia’s Copper Queens, signing a three-year contract with the Zambian Football Association.
