Odorgonno SHS students protest over faulty traffic lights on Awoshie-Anyaa road [Video]

There was uneasy calm on Monday morning as students of Odorgonno Senior High School (SHS) took to the streets to protest malfunctioning traffic lights on the Awoshie-Anyaa road.

Clad in their school uniforms, some students wore red bands on their heads and hands as they expressed frustration over the situation.

Adom News’ Kodwo Mensah Aborampa, who was at the scene, reported that the students blocked the main Awoshie road.

Residents have long lamented the incessant deaths on the route due to malfunctioning traffic and streetlights, compounded by the absence of footbridges.

The protesting students cited the recent death of one of their security men, affectionately called Uncle Ben, who was killed on the stretch due to the faulty traffic lights.

They claimed the issue has persisted for over four years, with repeated appeals to authorities yielding no results.

The students have vowed to continue their protest until Friday if the issue is not resolved promptly.
