Primary 6 pupils of Odaso D/A school in the Amansie central district of the Ashanti region have been reported to study under a tree while pupils from Kindergarten to class five use an almost death trap old wooden structure which can collapse on them any time soon as classrooms.
In an interview with Adom News, Dede Nii Naa Agatha who is a kindergarten teacher stated the lack of appropriate classrooms and adequate furniture and TLMs in the school does not help the school to provide the best of education to the kids.

“We have kindergarten 1 and 2 pupils in the same classroom which makes teaching and learning difficult because I don’t know who to focus on and since I can’t teach both classes at the same time, I end up focusing more on the KG 2 most of the time.”
Meanwhile the Assistant Head teacher Collins Opoku Agyemang also added the location of the school makes it difficult for students to concentrate.

“Because the school is near the road, the children are always attracted to things around and don’t pay attention to class work and studies under the tree is also not safe because we have had a case where a snake fell from the tree in the middle of a lesson.”
