The National Democratic Congress (NDC) parliamentary candidate for Obuasi West, Faustilove Appiah Kennin, has unveiled a comprehensive plan to support widows and students in the constituency, should she be elected in the upcoming general elections.
During the official launch of her campaign at Obuasi Zongo, the candidate highlighted her commitment to addressing social issues, particularly poverty alleviation among widows and the provision of educational support for students.
In her address to party supporters and community members, Faustilove announced her intention to create a special fund to assist widows who are struggling due to economic hardships.
She noted that, many widows in the area are unable to meet their basic needs, especially in the face of the country’s current economic challenges. The fund, she explained, would offer financial relief to help these women rebuild their lives and provide for their families.
She further revealed her plans to introduce an initiative called “Obaa Naa Free Vacation Classes,” which would offer free educational sessions during the holidays for students. This program aims to help students improve academically, especially those whose parents cannot afford extra tuition during school breaks.
Faustilove stressed that education is a key pillar in her campaign, and she is determined to create more opportunities for the youth of Obuasi West to excel.
