In a dramatic turn of events, Diana Asabre, a young woman who accessed a bank loan to purchase a car for her boyfriend, now finds herself without a home and burdened with debt.
According to Diana, she secured a loan to buy the vehicle under the assurance that her boyfriend would work diligently and contribute towards its repayment.
However, after acquiring the car, she alleges that he ceased working and now spends most of his time idling at home.
When Diana confronted him about his failure to assist in repaying the loan, she claims he reacted aggressively and threw her out of their shared residence. In retaliation, she seized the car key from him, preventing him from using the vehicle.
Seeking help to resolve her predicament, Diana reported the case to the Obra Show on Nhyira FM. She appealed for assistance to sell the car in order to settle the outstanding loan and move on with her life.
The man confirmed on the show that Diana indeed bought the car for him. However, he stated that he lost interest in the relationship after she claimed to have converted to Christianity and began pressuring him to marry her.
Unable to afford the cost of the marriage rites, he had no choice but to throw her out of the house.
The case sparked divergent views among the public, with many weighing in on the risks of making significant financial commitments in relationships. While some sympathized with Diana’s plight, others caution against such financial decisions without legal safeguards.
It remains unclear whether legal action will be pursued, but Diana’s story serves as a cautionary tale for individuals considering making major financial investments for their partners without clear agreements in place.
