Today marks exactly one year since Philip Osei Bonsu took over the reins as host of Ghana’s leading late afternoon political show on Asempa FM, Ekosii Sen.
Philip, who is known to many as OB, stepped into the heavy shoes left behind by Kojo Asare Baffuor Acheampong who passed a few months before the lot fell on him as successor.
OB took to Facebook to share his feeling on the one-year journey, saying:
“Exactly a year ago today, I stepped into the big shoes of Kojo Asare Baffuor Acheampong.
I remember the feeling when I opened the microphone to speak on the show for the first time as host. It was an incredible feeling.
One year on, the experience has been enlightening as it has been exciting. Admittedly, I have made some mistakes but I have also learnt on the job every single day.
Many thanks to the CEO and Management of the Multimedia Group for the opportunity. A special thank you to my Programs Director, Samuel Yirenkyi and the Production Team led by Dominic Kissi Yeboah for their support and guidance.
The years ahead can only get better and I pray for grace to do more.”
OB may be on the show for only one year but his control and command of it seems like many years already.
And, if his performance so far is anything to go by, listeners of Asempa FM and for that matter Ekosii Sen can only hope for the best, going forward.
