The Ghana Police Service has arrested a female suspect in connection with the violent clashes that erupted during the match between Nsoatreman FC and Asante Kotoko at Nana Kronmansah Park over the weekend.
The incident led to the tragic death of a Kotoko supporter, Francis Frimpong, popularly known as Nana Pooley.
So far, five individuals, including Nsoatreman FC owner Ignatius Baffour Awuah, have been taken into custody.
On Thursday morning, the police confirmed the arrest of a sixth suspect, Elizabeth Akosua Ntiriwaa, widely known as Akosua Black Chinese.
According to an official statement from the Ghana Police Service, Akosua Ntiriwaa is currently in custody and assisting with investigations.
In response to the incident, the Ghana Football Association (GFA) has postponed all Matchday 20 fixtures.
Additionally, the GFA plans to hold a meeting with Premier League club CEOs to discuss measures to curb hooliganism at football venues.
