The Headmaster of Adisadel College, William Kusi-Yeboah, says though they are surprised at the outcome of the 2018 National Science and Maths Quiz, they are grateful to God for how far he sent them.
According to him, the school was hopeful of emerging as winners and confident of lifting the trophy but will not give up because they continue to be hopeful of victory next year.
“We are still celebrating and will never give up. Our motto tells us not to give up as we will always be with the first. God knows best. We started well but to God be the Glory. Yes, we were shocked to some extent but we still have hope”, he said.

“It’s a competition, even in the ongoing world cup, big teams have exited the competition so why should we worry? We are still the great college that everybody knows of and the record we hold as far as the quiz is concerned is known to everybody”, he said.
The competition which started with, close to, 500 senior high schools from all over the country was climaxed on Thursday at the National Theatre with 2017 champions, Adisadel College and first-time contenders, West Africa Senior High School, competing with two-time winners St. Peter’s for this year’s bragging right.

This year’s contest ended with St. Peter’s SHS winning with 45 points, with West Africa SHS and Adisadel College placing second and third with 44 and 39 points, respectively.
But speaking on Adom FM’s Morning Show “Dwaso Nsem” Friday, Mr Kusi-Yeboah described those trolling his school as detractors who only wish for the downfall of the school.
He said those criticisms will not dampen their spirit but rather will urge them to go for the ultimate prize next year.

“My boys were poised for action and so our hearts are not broken at all. I only see those trolling us as detractors who will wish for our downfall”, he said.
