NPP’s respect for chiefs is justified, they own the party – Napo

The Vice Presidential candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh has remarked that the NPP’s high regard for chiefs across the country is well-justified, as they are key stakeholders in the party’s formation and success.

During a campaign tour to the Ashanti Region, Dr. Opoku Prempeh paid a courtesy call on the Offinso Manhene and his sub-chiefs at Offinso South, stating that chiefs were instrumental in forming the United Party (UP) tradition, out of which the NPP emerged.

He noted that the party’s respect for chiefs is a core tradition, highlighting that NPP flagbearer Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has directed them to always pay homage to chiefs before engaging with the public during their campaigns.

Supporting Napo’s leadership qualities, the Member of Parliament for Offinso South, Dr. Isaac Yaw Opoku, shared that even members of the opposition have recognized Dr. Opoku Prempeh’s integrity and leadership.

He expressed confidence that with Dr. Bawumia as President and Napo as Vice President, Ghana’s future will be secure.

The Offinso Manhene, Nana Dwamena Akenten II, praised Dr. Opoku Prempeh’s gesture of paying respect to the traditional leaders before commencing his tour, describing it as a mark of good upbringing and leadership.

He reaffirmed Offinso’s loyalty to the NPP and urged the party to reward their support with more developmental projects in the area.
