The New Patriotic Party (NPP) is gearing up to release a new campaign anthem titled “Steer” ahead of the December 7, 2024, general elections.
The song, produced by Mark Okraku-Mantey, Deputy Minister for Tourism, Arts, and Culture, is set to be unveiled on Saturday, September 14, 2024, on Joy FM.
With Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia as the flagbearer and Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh as his running mate, the ‘Steer’ song will play a crucial role in rallying support and energizing the NPP’s campaign message.
As a renowned music producer with a deep connection to Ghana’s entertainment industry, Okraku-Mantey’s involvement adds a creative touch, ensuring the song will captivate and engage voters from all walks of life.
Meanwhile, the song was executive-produced by Andrew Kofi Egyapa Mercer, the Minister for Tourism, Arts, and Culture, and Member of Parliament for Sekondi. His role in bringing this project to life reflects the NPP’s belief in the power of the arts as a medium for political communication.
Nonetheless, music has historically played a pivotal role in Ghanaian elections, and this release continues the NPP’s tradition of using campaign songs to foster unity, excitement, and a sense of purpose among its supporters.
As the December 2024 elections approach, “The Steer” is expected to resonate strongly with voters, reinforcing the party’s commitment to development and progress under Bawumia’s leadership.
