NPP’s Kandahar boys ‘torment’ NDC boys over demo

-

A planned demonstration against the Akufo-Addo government at Tamale in the Northern region, Tuesday March 21, 2017 was foiled by the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Kandahar Boys group.

A group calling itself the Coalition of Concerned Youth groups of Tamale planned the foiled demonstration.

The protesters in red armbands were chased away from their converging point at the Tamale Jubilee Park.

According to the Kandahar boys, they do not see the need for the group to embark on the demonstration.

They alleged the group is made of Members of the opposition NDC and for that matter; they will not allow them to stage any demonstration in town until they make their intentions known.

They also added that, the Coalition of Concerned Youth Groups of Tamale never saw the need to demonstrate against the hardship and misconduct during the NDC government but could not fathom why they want to protest.

The NPP boys cited how some NDC hooligans in 2009 perpetuated more heinous crimes against members of the NPP but they did not embark on such protest to butress their point.

Meanwhile, the Convener of the NDC Coalition of Concerned Youth Groups, Mahama Zakaria accused the Northern Region Police Commander, ACP Patrick Adusei Sarpong and the Tamale Metro Police Commander, Kwabena Nkansah for negligence on their line of duty.

“We also want to remind the Regional Police Commander that, we know him in this region, we know some history about him in this region and we can assure him that, the Chiefs and People are watching him very closely. Or is he here for another special assignment?” he asked.

Mahama Zakaria thus challenged the police administration to arrest ring leaders of the NPP youth groups that locked public institutions after the elections.
