NPP will remain in opposition forever without Bawumia as flagbearer — Kwadwo Boateng-Agyemang

-

Eastern Regional NPP Chairman hopeful, Kwadwo Boateng-Agyemang, has cautioned members of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) against any attempt to challenge Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia’s flagbearership bid for the 2028 presidential election.

Speaking in an interview on Asempa FM’s Ekosii Sen show, Mr. Boateng-Agyemang insisted that the Vice President remains the party’s strongest candidate to secure victory in the next general election.

“Anyone with an agenda to project any other candidate will fail. Bawumia will remain the flagbearer, and the NDC must be ready to face him,” he declared.

He further warned that any internal scheming to push a new face could backfire and keep the NPP in opposition for an extended period.

“Dr. Bawumia should go unopposed. If people want to do their own thing, we might stay in opposition for a long time. Any agenda against Bawumia will not work,” he emphasized.

Mr. Boateng-Agyemang’s comments come amid growing conversations within the party over its future leadership, following the outcome of the 2024 elections.
