NPP to pose 26 questions to gov’t on drug trafficking flights

-

The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has announced its plans to seek clarity from the government on the drug trafficking allegations involving Ghana’s airports.

The party will present 26 questions to the government at a meeting scheduled for Monday, 7th April, at the NPP headquarters.

In an interview on Accra-based ChannelOne TV, the General Secretary of the NPP, Justin Kodua Frimpong, revealed that the questions are aimed at ensuring transparency in the government’s handling of the issue.

“There are about 26 questions that we are asking the government to explain. We will make those questions available to the people of Ghana,” he said.

The party’s move follows allegations made by Assin South MP, Rev. John Ntim Fordjour, on Tuesday, April 1, 2025. He claimed that two flights—AirMed flight NH23AM and Cavok Air private jet Antonov AN 12 B—landed in Ghana between March 20 and March 25, 2025, carrying suspected cocaine and an undisclosed amount of cash. Rev. Fordjour called for investigations into the allegations, which prompted President John Mahama to direct National Security to probe the matter.

Although the government has ordered a thorough investigation, it insists that the allegations lack merit and are politically motivated.

Despite the government’s position, the NPP is determined to press for answers, emphasizing the need for transparency and accountability regarding the alleged drug trafficking activities at the country’s airports.
