NPP implementing NDC’s ‘good ideas’ – Koku Anyidoho

-

Deputy General Secretary of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) Koku Anyidoho has said the Akufo-Addo government is implementing some good ideas of the NDC but may fail in its implementation as far as both ideologies are concerned.

According to him, though he dislikes the ideologies of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), he will never wish the NPP and their leader, bad.

“The NPP are now implementing our ideologies. We are social democrats, the NPP claim they are capitalist but their policies are not working so they have ended up diverting to be socialists like us. But their kind of socialism they are practicing will bring chaos to this country,” he said on Accra based Neat FM.

Koku Anyidoho was commenting on NPP government’s implementation of the free Senior High School which was launched by the President Akufo Addo Tuesday.

The Free SHS Policy was on Tuesday launched by the President at the West Africa Senior High School, Adenta, Accra.

The Free SHS Policy is the flagship education programme of the government that seeks increase access to secondary education by removing the burden of paying fees from parents.

Under the policy, government would foot all bills including feeding fees, tuition fees and all other charges.

Over 420,000 eligible students would enjoy the programme which kicks started today September 12, 2017.

But Mr Anyidoho said the NPPs free Senior High School [SHS] needs proper strategy to make it sustainable.

He however questioned President Akufo Addo’s style of leadership claiming the NPP government is trying hard to implement a socialist policy.

“Nana Addo and his government wanting to be like us are trying hard to implement a socialist policy and if we are not careful and he doesn’t do it well, he will destroy the system” he indicated.
