NPP directs members to halt discussing internal disputes in media

-

The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has directed its members to stop discussing internal party matters in the media and other public platforms, urging an end to discussions that may cause disaffection.

In a statement signed by the party’s General Secretary, Justin Kodua Frimpong, and released on Wednesday, March 20, the NPP acknowledged the emotional distress and disappointment among members following their defeat in the last election.

However, the party emphasized the importance of unity and calm.

“As an officer of the Party, mandated by the Party’s Constitution under Article 10(7)(5) to coordinate the activities and operations of the Party, please note that all Party members are hereby directed to immediately cease discussing Party issues that create unrest, negativism, and disaffection in the media and other related platforms,” the statement stated.

The NPP also referenced Article 3(5) of its Constitution, which mandates members to promote and defend the party’s good name.

Leadership at national, regional, and constituency levels has been instructed to enforce the directive and take disciplinary action against members who fail to comply.
