NPP chairmen and ranking on committees want caucus leadership maintained in 9th Parliament

Chairmen and Ranking Members of various committees within the New Patriotic Party (NPP) parliamentary caucus, along with members of the party’s National Council, have called for the retention of the current parliamentary leadership as the 9th Parliament convenes.

In a media interaction, the leaders highlighted the importance of experience and steadfast character in addressing the challenges posed by the incoming National Democratic Congress (NDC) majority in Parliament.

According to the NPP leaders, retaining the current leadership would strengthen the caucus’s unity and effectiveness in navigating the parliamentary terrain, while also positioning the party to reclaim lost parliamentary seats in future elections.

The Chairman of the NPP Committee Chairmen Caucus and Member of Parliament (MP) for Fanteakwa North, Kwabena Amankwaa Asiamah, emphasized the need for stability in

“The current leadership has the experience and fortitude needed to face the challenges ahead. It is crucial for our caucus to remain united and resolute as we prepare for the 9th Parliament.”

Echoing these sentiments, Carlos Kingsley Ahenkorah, Chairman of the Trade and Industry Committee and MP for Tema West, expressed confidence in the ability of the existing leadership to defend the caucus effectively in the next parliamentary session.
“We believe that the current leadership is well-equipped to represent our interests and ensure that the caucus remains strong and purposeful in the coming years.”

The NPP leaders reiterated the importance of continuity in leadership, underscoring its role in fostering a cohesive and dynamic parliamentary caucus capable of advancing the party’s objectives.
