The New Patriotic Party(NPP) has accused the National Democratic Congress(NDC) leadership of orchestrating the acts of hooliganism recorded nationwide in the past days.
Addressing a press conference on Wednesday, Majority Leader and Effutu Member of Parliament, Alexander Afenyo-Markin claimed the NDC leadership are organising and bussing these irate supporters.
“Indeed it is our claim that the NDC leadership is organising these gentlemen to do this. They organise, bus and fuel them. They are doing this to their benefit,” he alleged.
Following the NDC’s victory in the 2024 election, reports of violence and hooliganism have been recorded in various parts of the country.
The acts have been widely condemned amidst intensified calls on President-elect, John Mahama to call the NDC supporters to order.
Amidst the wide condemnation, Mr Mahama has urged NDC supporters to desist from the acts and channel their energy into rebuilding the country.
Meanwhile, the Ghana Police Service have arrest 110 people in connection with the disturbances.
