Legal practitioner, Kwame
Ntow Fianko, has taken a swipe at the Ghana Football Association (GFA) Normalisation
Committee (NC) and described its work so far as a waste of tax payers’ money.

Mr Fianko was speaking on the shocking acts of violence witnessed at the Berekum Golden City Park on Sunday during the NC Special Competition clash between Berekum Chelsea and Kumasi Asante Kotoko.

According to the former
Division One League Board chairman, the NC has rejected the rules and
regulations of the GFA so it baffled him why the interim body resorted to the
same laws to ban the Golden City Park.

“The NC has realised that
the committee they setup to make rules and regulations for this tournament
(Special Competition) is a waste of tax payers’ money so they now want to quote
the [GFA] laws,” he told Asempa Sports.

The lawyer believes the NC has now realised that they don’t have any power and that is why they are now referring to the GFA status.

“Under article 41 clause 1.5 of the GFA status, disciplinary committees are those that can ban Berekum Chelsea. The NC has seen that they don’t have any power and that is the reason why they have used powers conferred on the GFA executive council under article 15 clause 2 to ban the Berekum Park,” he added.

Berekum Chelsea have been
banned temporarily by the NC from using the Golden City Park following Sunday’s
violent incident.
