The Football Association of Zambia has officially introduced Nora Häuptle as the new head coach of the Copper Queens, following her departure from the Black Queens of Ghana.
The announcement was made on Friday at the Taj Pamodzi Hotel, where the Swiss coach signed a three-year contract to lead Zambia’s national women’s team. Häuptle replaces Bruce Mwape, who previously held the position.
Nora chose not to renew her contract with Ghana after her two-year deal expired, leading to her departure.
Now, she will focus on guiding Zambia in its preparations for the 2025 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) scheduled for July.
Her immediate task will be to get the team ready for the tournament, including organizing a series of friendly matches.
Zambia had previously eliminated Nora’s Black Queens from the qualifiers for the 2024 Olympic Games in a two-legged tie.
Following Häuptle’s exit, the Ghana Football Association appointed Kim Lars Bjorkegren as the new head coach of the Black Queens.
