The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Nkwanta South in the Oti Region, Joseph Awal Antwi, has engaged with local media to promote collaboration for the municipality’s development.
During the meeting, the MCE, who previously served as the Head of Sports at Beyond FM, a local radio station in Nkwanta, recognized the essential role the media plays in advancing development.
He outlined several initiatives aimed at improving the welfare of journalists and increasing opportunities for collaboration between the Municipal Assembly and the media.
Mr. Antwi expressed his commitment to creating an environment in which journalists can thrive, enhancing their ability to effectively report on issues that could attract investors to the area.
“A vibrant media is vital for the progress of our municipality. When journalists are empowered, they can better inform the public and hold leaders accountable,” he stated.
The MCE urged media practitioners to uphold ethical standards and practice responsible journalism, which can create business opportunities for the development of Nkwanta South.
“Together, we can build a stronger Nkwanta South,” he said, encouraging journalists to take an active role in the municipality’s growth.
In a conversation with Adom News, some local media practitioners expressed confidence in the MCE’s leadership approach.
They pledged their support for Joseph Awal Antwi’s success and urged him to adopt an open-door policy to involve everyone in the development process.
