Nkwanta SHS at 50: Headmaster calls for concrete fence wall and improved security

-

Nkwanta Senior High School (SHS) has proudly marked its 50th anniversary with a heartfelt appeal from the headmaster for the construction of a concrete fence wall and enhanced security measures to safeguard the institution’s future.

Established in 1974, Nkwanta SHS has been a cornerstone of academic excellence, shaping the lives of countless students across the country.

However, as the school celebrates this golden jubilee, its headmaster, Solomon Bagmae, highlighted pressing challenges posed by the school’s open boundaries, which leave it vulnerable to unauthorized access and security threats.

Speaking at the anniversary event, Mr. Bagmae stressed the need to prioritize the safety and well-being of students and staff. He pointed out that the school has become a haven for students seeking refuge amid recent ethnic conflicts in the region, making the call for improved security measures even more urgent.

The headmaster proposed the construction of a concrete fence wall to not only deter intruders but also create a more conducive learning environment. Additionally, he called for the establishment of a dedicated security team to monitor the premises and swiftly address potential incidents.

Delivering a motivational address at the celebration, Lawyer Charles Tetteh, an alumnus and secretary of the old students’ association, encouraged current students to embrace hard work and dedication in their studies. He shared personal experiences, emphasizing how perseverance and commitment to academic pursuits laid the foundation for his successful career.

Lawyer Tetteh reminded students that the effort they invest today would pave the way for their future achievements, inspiring them to remain focused and resilient in the face of challenges.

The 50th-anniversary celebrations served as a moment of reflection and a renewed commitment to the growth and security of Nkwanta SHS for generations to come.
