Nkwanta Conflict: MP donates relief items to affected families

In a heartfelt gesture of solidarity, Geoffrey Kini, the Member of Parliament for Nkwanta South in the Oti region, has donated relief to families affected by the recent conflict.

The turmoil has left many residents in dire need of assistance, prompting both the government and the MP to take swift action to alleviate their suffering.

The essential relief items include 300 bags of rice, soap, cooking oil, buckets, 1,000 pieces of blankets, mosquito coils and nets, 1,000 plastic cups and plates, second-hand clothing, and others.

The donation, made through National Security, aims to provide immediate support to those struggling to meet their basic needs in the aftermath of the conflict.

In his address, Mr. Kini expressed the government’s deep concern for the well-being of the affected families.

He emphasized the importance of unity and resilience in the face of adversity, urging chiefs and community leaders to come together to support one another during these challenging times.

The MP’s initiative has been met with gratitude from the community, who have praised his commitment to their welfare.

On behalf of Adele, Challa Akyode, and the Muslim community, Alhaji Kayaba Ibrahim, Nkwanta Zongo chief, expressed their appreciation for the timely assistance, which has provided a glimmer of hope amid the uncertainty.

He pleaded with other faction groups to drop their arms and give peace a chance for development.

The Zongo chief also noted that the protracted conflict is adversely affecting the community, emphasizing the need for joint collaboration to bring the area back to normalcy for business activities to thrive.
