The Nkrataasem Sports Betting Event, held on August 10, 2024, at the Accra Metropolitan Assembly Conference Hall, was a success.

Organized by CEO Alex Kobina Stonne and led by Brand Ambassador Miss Eunice Ankrah, the event brought together seasoned tipsters and journalists to promote safe betting practices among bettors.

The event, aimed at educating youth and bettors on responsible gambling, was hosted by Natalia Andoh, a counseling psychologist and broadcast journalist.

The gathering featured insightful talks from notable speakers, including Noel Nutsugah, a lecturer and head of Public Relations at the University of Media Arts and Communications Institute of Journalism (UNIMAC-IJ).

Nutsugah emphasized the importance of risk and funds management for young bettors, stressing that betting involves risks, and it’s crucial for bettors to prioritize financial management.

Prof. E.K. Wallace, a broadcast journalist and head of Sports at Adom cluster, emphasized the necessity of responsible gambling.

He highlighted the importance of adhering to legal age restrictions and encouraged practices that minimize harm while maximizing enjoyment in betting.

He made participants abreast of the severe consequences of irresponsible gambling, including financial loss, addiction, and relationship issues.

Key speaker Enoch Smith, a renowned sports betting tipster, expanded participants’ understanding of betting strategies, providing practical insights on implementing them effectively.

Opoku Clinton, known as LilMo GH, further elaborated on the fundamentals of sports betting, including understanding odds and analyzing odds using Poisson distribution.

He advocated for bettors to approach betting as a business, rather than a mere chance-based activity, emphasizing the need for self-discipline to avoid addiction.

In a post-event interview, LilMo GH praised the event as both informative and impactful, expressing hope that participants would apply the knowledge gained to bet responsibly and contribute to a more lucrative and harm-free betting industry.

The event’s organizers, led by CEO Alex Kobina Stonne, expressed their commitment to continuing this initiative annually, as they believe educating bettors on safe betting practices is crucial.

The event was supported by sponsors such as Gig Energy Drink, Givers Herbal Centre, Vanscope Real Estate, 22bet, Benzfield Company, and Saint Philip Enterprise, who also showcased their products and services.
